On February 24, 2022, Russian troops invaded Ukraine. Millions of refugees have fled through the borders of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. So far, 8 million war refugees have occurred, of which 4 million have yet to return.
In March 2022 I saw Ukrainian refugees on the borders of Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. The faces across the border at night looked complicated. They had to feel both the relief that they were safely out of danger and the anxiety in other places. A few days of escape from Ukraine is over, but unfamiliar life in another country has just begun. Daily life was ruined by the sudden evacuation, and the face was lifeless due to a few days of tension and lack of sleep. The fact that they did not know where to go right away or when they could go back bothered them. It was not easy to see a face showing deep sadness and despair. The face that had to survive could not afford it. Sensitive and heavily nervous faces were on the border.
